Diagnostic APFT

But they do count...for special schools (Airborne, AA, etc), CULP, awards, etc

Yeah and I can definitely see ABN/AA slots dwindling in the next couple years. Those types of schools are luxuries for cadets and non-essential for mission purposes. "Hooah" badges are awesome but I feel that these schools will be reserved for ABN essential units and their incoming soldiers. Get them while you can. As a cadet you will need to be top of the MSI/II "internal" OML to get slotted.

As an officer unless you NEED the school, dropping a 4187 request will mean next to nothing......caveat are if you are at Benning, Campbell etc.

Not all battalions have record APFT's only in Dec. and May. We give a record APFT on Day 1 of the fall semester. We have a few others throughout the year as well. Our MSIII's take a diagnostic monthly.

Are you sure your battalion does their "Recorded APFT" on day one of the fall semester. They may record it for the battalion OML, but for MS3's that would seem a bit odd.

Yes, it's a record. They also have a record in December and we take the highest of the two for accessions. We do the same in the spring. (Record in January and May)

MS3's also have the option to make any of the monthly diagnostic APFT's record as long as they let their grader know before they begin the first event.

I know it's odd, and I don't get why we do it, but our cadre expects us to show up in shape. Even though they all know scores go down after summer and winter break.

Nice that your Cadre gives the cadets several chances for a recorded APFT. Takes the pressure away from having to perform on just one recorded APFT.
