b-ball throw- 77ft
shuttle run- 9.3 (rounded)
pull-ups- 10
crunches-95
pushups- 75
mile- 7:51

Thank you :)!

I don't have any numbers in front of me but as far as I can tell it seems as though everything looks good except the mile time, which is a bit higher than average if memory serves.

Great job!
here's mine:

basketball throw:45
pullups:12
Shuttle run:8.7
Situps: 101
Pushups: 75
Mile:5:07

Well since were all putting ours out there...heres mine

basketball throw: 78
pullups: 12
Shuttle run: 9.1
Situps: 80
Pushups: 60
Mile: 6:42

Sure hope i can improve them by the time i get to Academy/ROTC.

i remember seeing a chart online that gave how many points you earned based on what you did. Can anyone send me that link?

I know theres one for AFROTC. I think most dets have it on their websites. I dont know about USAFA though.

USAFA is not like ROTC at all. ROTC does the AF PFT, we do a very different one.

I am just curious but are all these for 2012? Just wondering because I thought the apps closed 1/31?

the deadline to open an application is 1/31, but you can update all application-related documents until March 1.

Ok, just makin sure, someone else asked me that question before and I wasn't 100% sure...

BTW, your score look good flyboy, but any chance you can tuck the mile in to the 6's? With that, I see a very solid CFA...

Haha falconXC2012, its something bout XC and track long distance that take away from tht basketball throw ehh? I guess that test is all about the technique... I only gotta measly 49 ft but I got an appointment so dont let that discourage you!!!:thumb:

i thought when u reached the maximum scores than u have to stop or can u keep going?

You can keep going but it wont help your score anymore than the max number. I'm a little older so my score reflects that;

BB Throw: 63
Pull Ups: 5
Shuttle: 9.6
Push Ups: 58
Sit Ups: 83
Mile: 6:30

I'm assuming that your CFA score reflects most in the military where your run time is worth the most points.

oh i see now, i was a little worried because i stopped when i maxed..thanks poyner!

BB Throw: 81
Pull Ups: 12
Shuttle: 8.2
Sit ups: 95
Pushups: 75
Mile: 8:10 (off a sore ankle but i'm not using it as an excuse)

Run times are important, but at the academy they are not weighted as highly. The AFT (1.5mi) makes up 15% of your PE Average. The PFT run (600m) makes up 1/5th of your PFT score. The PFT counts as 50% of your PEA...and your PEA does not make up a huge percentage of your Overal Performance Average. So, running makes up 25% of your PEA and about 5% of your OPA (I don't remember what percentage of OPA is PEA related).

The AF PFT places MUCH more weight on running (the 1.5mi).

Obviously, failing things is bad! PEA is usually not the thing most cadets worry about...unless they are at/below the 2.0 line

The PEA is 10% of OPA, therefore the running aspect is 2.5% of your OPA.

Yeah, I took the test twice and couldn't improve basketball throw, but i did improve my pull-up test by four from the first time. BTW... I don't think I'll be trying out for the team based on what I heard, but my best 5K time this year was a 16:30 with room for more, do you think its worth a shot? I don't want to think about giving up running competitively, but I don't know if I'm good enough.

Well that doesn't help me much... I'm all endurance but I guess I'm just going to have to work hard. I'm joining the post's boxing club pretty soon. That will hopefully help. Thanks for the heads up.

Poyner -

You are going to USMA. The fitness requirements are different between the academies. For USMA you only take the CFA for admissions. You will never take it again.
From this point onward you only have to pass the APFT - look up those guidelines and shoot for those. You will be tested twice a year - just like active duty. The test is 1 minute pushups, 1 min situps and a 2 mile run.

Here is a good website for you to look at: http://www.hooah4health.com/4You/apft.htm
