I seem to recall that several Basics last year and/or perhaps the years before organized a Dinner at a local restaurant the night before IP day. You might want to try that to get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere without parents. Just a thought.

A good idea for those not accompanied by family certainly. Call me selfish but I'm not coming from DC to C Springs to miss my DS last supper. Would welcome anyone with parents or not to share it. I intend to spend every second trying to exude love and confidence into him until he climbs the stairs in Doolittle. They will have the next 6 weeks and the 4th class year to bond :)

Good point 84grad19dad. We made the "last supper" special (Summit Restaurant at the Broadmoor) and returned to the restaurant when he graduated last May. The basics will be getting to know each other 24/7 on I-day. However, for those traveling alone, sounds like a good idea for someone to organize.

My DD joined the 2018 Cadet group on facebook and found other Barbarians. They coordinated a time and place to meet for dinner before I-day in Colo Spgs.

My thoughts exactly 84 Grad! I'm having a hard time cutting everyone off here so that we get a few days at home here of peace alone with him. Anyone else going through same? I appreciate the care and love everyone has for him, and I treasure everyone's support, but we need as a family to have some time to think, sit still and say goodbye too. :( I made today the cut-off for goodbyes.
