I (M) play a high contact sport (Football) in a high contact/injury position (Running back). Although I have never had any injuries over the years of play this sport or any other sport, the chances of injury are even higher as I play against higher-level high school teams (5a and 6a schools). I was wondering do concussions, fractures, and dislocations disqualify you from getting accepted into a service academy?

DoDMERB will make a determination of Meets Standards, or Does Not Meet Standards (DQ)

most of the disqualifying conditions are black and white, and for the ones where there is some subjectivity DoDMERB tends to err on the conservative side and DQ - and let the waiver authority make a determination.

the things you list COULD be DQ's depending on the details, but are usually not DQs. Football injuries like AC joint separation, collar bone fracture, tibia/fibia fracture etc aren't usually a problem, unless they don't heal. Things like ACL tears are not DQ as long as they are surgically repaired and fully healed. Dislocated knee can be a different story

For any surgery, there is usually 6 mos post op req'd to be qualified.

All of the conditions have a "it depends" factor. if you are concerned about any of them in particular, you can find the details in the doc linked above

if you had acute mastoidectomy in 3rd grade and had a mastoidectomy to resolve it with no issues since, is it still a PDQ?
