I recently recieved my nomination from Phil Hare and have been avid in my application towards KP. I was told that since I come from Illinois as long as I met the minimum scholastic requirments and got a nomination. Illinois hasn't filled their quota in nine years. Today, I found out that I have been disqualified medically for Academic Skills Defect. I have ADHD and take Concerta for it. Does anybody know if any applicants have gotten waivers for this?

Academic Skills Defect-WingA34

Our son is a competitive candidate for class of 2014. He just received the findings of his medical exand and has been disqualified for 'academic skills defect". He took Concerta until May of this year. The DOD paperwork states he used Adderal; which is incorrect. My question is whether the difference between Adderal and Concerta is a big deal; and if the Academy will automatically request a waiver or do we begin the process. And finally, and probably most importantly; has anyone received a waiver from Academic skills defect"?

She did. Thx. Already in contact with a course of action in place:thumb:
