I was planning on going to West Point next year. I received a letter of assurance a couple weeks ago and last week I received my nomination from Senators Lieberman's office. Sadly, today I received a letter informing me that I have been medically disqualified from the Academy for Academic skills defects. I am sure this is because I used to take ADHD medication, but I have been off since last May. I am still a good student, I scored a 1450 on my SAT in June and I am taking 5 Advanced Placement classes this senior year, successfully. This news was heartbreaking, West Point has really been the only school I'm interested in. What can I do about this besides waiting for a waiver, and what are my chances of still getting in?

When I applied to SLS last April, I was told I needed to be off meds for a year. Since I stopped seeing the neurologist and getting my prescriptions filled immediately after this, shouldn't I be fine? Thank you very much for any answers you might have.
