Do College Reapplicant Ever Get Offered USMAPS?

If you ask do they ever then the answer is Yes. The next natural question then would be how often and that answer would be not very and that applicant would need to have a unique situation. USMAPS primary mission is to prepare candidates for the rigor of college level academics. If you have already succeeded at the college level, USMAPS will not help that much.

I am asking for myself really... I am a college reapplicant from American University. This past admissions season, I was 3q with a nom but did not get appointed. As stated by my RC, I was "minimally qualified." I know for a matter of fact, the greatest weakness in my application was that I took only up to trig in HS. I am now taking a rigorous college course load, with Pre-Calc. Additionally, I am studying tor raise my SAT score.

Any thoughts on my situation regarding the possibility for me to be appointed prep?

Remember how the process works. It is fairly objective where you are evaluated against a set of defined criteria. The competition process is also established and fairly objective. As a high school applicant, you are basically competing against other on your nomination slate. You mention that you know the greatest weakness was your math background, but how do you know this. Did your RC tell you that you would have won the slate if your class schedule was more rigors. Was the Math portion of the SAT high? Did other areas make up for that weakness. Absent that confirmation from your RC, you do not know why you did not win the slate.

Now the good news, the process gives re-applicants a competitive advantage in the WCS process. You are able to get additional points that some of your competition will not be able to get. Just like the advice we give to any applicant, worry about what you can control. Take a rigorous schedule similar to plebe year, make the time to improve your test scores, join ROTC if at all possible, stay active in other activities.

Alright, Thank you!

A little late to the party here, but yes. My college reapplicant son is currently a CC at USMAPS.
