Do I have a shot for direct admission?

I'm currently an A1C going through IQT/MQT for my job. My goal is to get to my first base in March, get qualified and deployed this summer/fall, and begin an application to USAFA next fall. I'll turn 22 in the spring before I'd hopefully start in the summer of 2023, which gives me one shot at an application. What are my odds of getting in as a direct admit?

HS Stats:
HS GPA: 3.7
ACT: 33
Extracurriculars: Eagle Scout, mock trial, Model UN (w/ award from Harvard), several musicals, varsity Golf, National Honor Society, taught English in 3rd world preschool for 2 years, Knights of Columbus officer, member of a national committee of the Boy Scouts of America, led several 100+ person teams at national BSA events, student pilot, lots of other less noteworthy ECs

AF info:
1A AFSC, assigned to selectively-manned AFSOC flying unit
Rope in tech school (for those of you who are familiar with ropes, I did everything in my power to not be one of those ropes)
SQ award winner
Volunteering with Catholic Charities supporting Afghan Refugee Resettlement, with BSA, and in parish
Student pilot with 40 hours, will finish PPL soon

I haven't taken the CFA, but I'm in the high 80s on the AF PT test and working to up those numbers every day. PT is probably my weakest component.

In addition to the nomination from my SQ/CC, I'd be applying for congressional nominations in South Dakota, along with a Presidential nomination.

Do I have a reasonable shot?

Not good as a direct admit, because that means appointed directly from high school.

BUT, show yourself to be a good leader, work hard, and be an Airman that your company leadership wants to endorse and support in your application process!! Good for you!!

The actual term is direct-entry for admissions. A direct-entry is also an airman appointed directly from AD without going to the prep school. In this case the OP would be a direct-entry if they receive an appointment.

Reaching back 40+ years, but I surely believe I could have put in an AFROTC application my first couple of years as an enlisted airman. Is ROTC on your radar as well? Of course, I'm old enough and wise enough now to also believe things might have changed in 40 years. They still use ropes? I guess that hasn't changed.

Decent looking resume (there are resources where you could more realistically check your academic standing compared to other applicants), but I am unable to comment whatsoever on Direct-Entry for USAFA admissions. It seems that program was also around years ago, but I don't know of anyone who ever applied or was selected.

Barring USAFA, I'd recommend you look at AFROTC as well, register for the CCAF, and take a boatload of CLEP and DANTES tests while all the high school stuff is fresh in your mind. There are/were other programs where your full time job became finishing your BS degree, with a route to OCS.

A question which may come up is what you've been doing since HS?

If the OP was selected for USAFA Prep School is there not an age waver that can be gotten for AD as far as the SA?

ROTC is absolutely on my radar as well. My goal is to apply for USAFA, and if that doesn't work out, apply for a ROTC program the next year. I just need to prioritize the USAFA application due to the hard age cutoff.
