Do Midshipmen ever pretend to be Seminar Students?

I was wondering if sometimes Midshipmen, for whatever reason, join in with the seminar kids. It may sound like a strange proposition, but I have a feel it is.

Last summer when I went, one of my squad members was more verbally reserved, but I got along with him well. We talked about things we do, he did Judo, but he looked like a marathon runner to me. And sure enough when I asked him, he confirmed this.

So recently, I have been training for another marathon of my own, and I wanted to compare my time to see if I would fit in with the club at the USNA, and sure enough his name was on the list as a plebe last year.

When I went to summer seminar last year, one midshipman did pretend to be one of the kids. Some people suspected it and then my squad leader told us later in the week that he was a midshipman.

3/c midshipmen can apply for and get selected to work as NASS detailers for one of their summer training blocks. The above anecdote sounds a bit out of the norm, but perhaps someone was having some fun.

It definitely was out of the norm, from what I heard was that there was an extra set of gear so the mid had some fun. The NASS detailers sure got some laughs out of it.

That is pretty funny. You have to know that mids get bored and sometimes find ways to entertain themselves. I'm sure all of the detailers get a kick out of setting up one mid as a student and then reporting back!

Come Plebe Summer and Plebe Year you may find out who the real 3/C ones were. Sounds like fun for a boring Block.
