Do we send IB/AP scores?

For the USNA (or all of the academies for that matter), do candidates submit AP/IB scores for admissions purposes?

I am asking this because I am taking 2 IB SL classes this year, and will be taking 1 next year and I WILL NOT BE TAKIKG THE FINAL IB SL EXAMS for these classes. My councilor told me not to waste the money on SL tests if I wasn’t a full diploma candidate because apparently they aren’t accepted by most colleges. I decided to take these classes, along with 1 HL class and a dozen AP classes for the purpose of strengthening my academics. Do the classes even count if I don’t have a score for some of them?

So overall, my question is as follows:

Do the academies require you to send AP/IB SL and HL scores for admissions purposes?

Thanks in advance!

(Sorry if this question is confusing; please ask if you need me to clarify)

The difficulty of your class load is taken into account by admissions.
Take all the AP classes and associated AP tests that you can.
AP test scores will be reported in your "Candidate Academic Information" by your High School Guidance Counselor.

My DS took a lot of AP classes, but was not in the IB program so I cannot comment on the "IB SL Exam" scores being reported in the
Candidate Academic Information. This is because you end up giving USNA the contact information of your H.S. Guidance Counselor and then the counselor uploads the data to USNA without you even seeing it.

When "official" candidates receive their ECandidate packet letter (in May), they will receive login information for the Candidate Information System (AKA "the portal"). After that, it's a simple matter of emailing your USNA Admissions Counselor to ask.

OR someone who went through the IB program and applied to the class of 2022 will chime in here, and let you know shortly!

I can tell you that IB test scores will help you validate some courses at USNA. <-- That's a link.

DS is an IB diploma candidate. Most colleges (and I believe USNA) will consider IB HL and AP to be roughly equivalent but not IB SL. I think you need a 7 on the IB HL tests for consideration.

Here is USNA's valdiation website: https://www.usna.edu/Academics/Candidate-Information/Course-Validation-Policy.php

Are you prepared to answer this question: "I see your high school has the IB program and you took some IB courses but did not try to earn the IB Diploma. Why not?" DS couldn't come up with a good response so he is in the IB Diploma program (and does not like Theory of Knowledge class).

Thank you both for your responses.

Do these AP/IB scores factor into your Whole Candidate Score? I know class load/rigor do, but say for example you get a 2 on an AP Exam, but As in the class (I’ve never scored lower than a 3 btw, I’m just using this as an example). Will this bring your WCS down?

Thanks.

PURE CONJECTURE follows;

I would imagine that AP scores do contribute something to your WCS (otherwise, why would they ask for them?).
How much those scores affect the WCS, is anyone's guess.

Most colleges won't look at AP scores of less than 3 when it comes to testing out of ("validating" in USNA parlance) courses.
At USNA (see link in above posts), the lowest AP score they will accept is a 4.
If you want to raise eyebrows in this arena (and validate courses when you get there), scores of 5 on your AP tests ought to do it.
