Do you suppose Larry Mullen looks like Yoda?

Folks - I take this all as a very high compliment, but I think there's a number of psychiatric evaluations are in order for all of you that have lost touch with reality. I'm just a guy, trying to help applicants navigate the process and truth be told, I don't do squat...It's the DoDMERB team that does it all and I just happen to be the front man. I couldn't spell "medical" correctly ...with a spell checker:sleep: But I do try and help and apparently, it has worked for a few. Thx!

Liar, liar, pants on fire. You’re a God.

No, no, don’t DQ us for psych reasons!

We know you appropriately direct the work, prioritize resources, set the tone for customer service to the applicants as well as your military stakeholders. We also see the personal hours you spend outside office time, while traveling, willing to be the face of DoDMERB and respond to the endless questions. You know humor is the classic military way of showing respect and appreciation, O Yoda-merb. The man, you are.

I’ve met Mr Mullen on a few occasions.

He has grey hair.

Facially, he is looks like a combo of Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Denzel Washington, and Chris Hemsworth. And as a tip of my hat to @Devil Doc , you can throw in some Gal Gadot in there too.

He’s got the feistiness of COVID19. His memory and knowledge of accessions medicine is equivalent to 100 volumes of encyclopedia britannica. He’s within 6 degrees of every GO/FO/SES in the Pentagon, and probably within 3 degrees of Kevin Bacon.

What a great American. He says it all the time... My honor and privilege to serve.

I forgot to add: When Chuck Norris gets injured, he still contacts Mr Mullen to see if his condition is waiverable so he can continue to act in action movies. 👍

Chuck Norris....of course. How did my minds eye miss that one?

Seriously, TY for being so giving if your time. You weren’t active on the boards for son #1. We had some medical issues that I’m certain you would have quelled DS’s mind. People presently are very fortunate to have you as a resource. Actual, factual and official. That’s pretty cool!!

Until yesterday, I had LOTS of grey hair even though I'm bald on top. But after 4.5 months, under Colorado Law with face masks required, the grey locks have been cut and whisked aways in the barber's trash

I gotta admit... that first post COVID haircut was pretty special a few weeks ago. Mid lockdown, I was joking with one of my law partners , a retired Marine Colonel and coincidentally same year group as I was, about how this was the longest I had gone without a haircut in almost 40 years !

Back on topic, it is great to have someone like Mr. Mullen online ... the whole DODMERB process gives Candidates a lot of angst, and BGO's are directed (for many good reasons) to stay away from anything medical related. I am curious whether your participating is officially sanctioned , or encourage by DODMERB. I asked one of the Admissions Counselor if he was aware of SAF a few years ago, and he kind of turned up his nose and discouraged participation. That said, subject to the caveat that you should always look for primary sources and not rely on everything you read online, SAF is a good platform and has a lot of good information.

Definitely NOT sanctioned or encouraged.
It is tricky sometime, because while I want to assist, what is the CORRECT answer for one person, if the incorrect answer for someone else, so I try my best to avoid the ability to generalize and often have folks contact me directly. We are as transparent as can be, but we also need to communicate to APPLICANTS, not PARENTS. As a BGO, you know the importance of that and because I'm old and have done this for 28 years, I can take a bit more license with how I talk to parents AND paragraph 4 of "Questions About the Process" reference document on the DoDMERB home page. Correct :wiggle:

I met Mr Mullen a number of years ago at an all Academy event an he was extremely helpful and infinitely knowledgeable about DODMERB.
I probably wouldn’t recognize him today if I saw him, but I know he wasn’t as short as Yoda!

On another note, Bacon was once again inserted into the conversation.....

Regrettably, more pounds, a lot grayer, a lot less hair, probably shorter now...BUT...hopefully more knowledgeable now and equally as helpful.:wiggle:

The bacon reference is clearly mathematical...the older you get, the more people you know, therefore the 6 degrees start decreasing at a more rapid rate...and I've "walked" by, the myriad of Kevin Bacon's residences over the years in NYC:rofl:

Yesssss!
Mr. Mullen has mentioned “bacon” in a post. This has got to be some kind of galactic intersection.
