Hello,
I am a bit hung up on the DoDMERB question where it asks you "Have you ever or do you use alcohol?"
Here is my situation: About a year ago I was on a school trip to Europe. We lived with a european family for about a month. At dinner we were occasionaly served alcohol in the form of wine. Our teacher also took us out to eat once or twice and we were served drinks with alcohol in them. I never abused it or drank a lot of it.
I have also been served the occasional drink at holidays or special family occasions. Again, it was very little alcohol.
If the question is whether I have abused alcohol (as in drinking and getting intoxicated) in the past and present then the answer is absolutely not. I have never used it alone or with friends at parties like a lot of people my age do.
I would just like a better understanding of what the question is asking. I do not want to lie but I don't want to say "yes" for something that DoDMERB may potentially not see as a big deal (referring to the thread where the guy was asking if drinking champagne at holidays counted- the answer was no).
I would appreciate any advice you would be able to offer.
