I had an ACL reconstruction surgery done almost 2 years ago now and have since made a full recovery and am 100% back to normal. Is there a possibility DODMERB would still reject me because of it?

My DD had a complete reconstruction of her knee freshman year of high school. She took, and passed, the CFA and applied for Early Action. She passed her DODMERB examine easily and received an appointment to USCGA on December. Good luck!

I am hoping my daughter has a similar positive outcome, but was told yesterday that any "issue that is of historical nature such as dislocation of the patella, you will be disqualified by DODMERB standards". My DD had a patella dislocation her sophomore year of high school with a ligament repair & completely recovered without any issues the last 2.5 years. She is a 2 sport athlete and has no residual issues. I was surprised to hear this after things I have read on this forum. Fingers crossed that we can obtain a waiver.

I would reach out for lawrence.e.mullen.civ@mail.mil he has all of the complete information. From my point of view I don't see why any issue of a historical nature would be grounds for automatic disqualification. If your daughter had an issue and was able to recover and pass the CFA, why would she be disqualified. Best of luck.
