My son applied to all three ROTC programs. He got qualified for the academies and Navy ROTC, but his Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC qualifications are not listed. He has all of his paperwork in, and has interviewed. I am just wondering if there is something we need to do to complete the medical portion for the ROTC programs. I thought they would ask DodMerb directly - are we missing something? Thanks! New to the forums - and I appreciate everyone's input!

Nope, nothing to worry about for now. As I understand it and from reading previous year' posts, the various ROTC branches (Army, Air Force, not sure about Navy) typically do not order the Medical from DoDMERB until they offer a scholarship (or perhaps considering offering a scholarship) which started in 2011 I believe (a change from earlier years).

Since your DS already is DoDMERB qualified for the service academys he has applied to, there is nothing more that can be done at this time. If and when an ROTC DoDMERB request is issued, it should be no more than an administrative update.

Our DS is in the same boat as yours... DoDMERB qualifed (AFA, USMA, USNA), nothing on ROTC (AF and Army).

Best of luck to your DS with his ROTC and SA endevours.
