DoDMERB, any possibility to start ASAP?

Hello, I have nearly all items in my application complete with the exception of the interview (scheduled this Sunday), and the DoDMERB examination. However, USAFA forwarded my name to the DoDMERB after the website went down. I'm worried that I'll end up starting the process way too late and want to start ASAP, but simply can't with the website being down for over a month. Does anyone know if there's anything I can do to start/expedite the medical examination process while the DoDMERB is down? Any advice/help is greatly appreciated!

You are not “way too late.” the DoDMERB review does not have to be complete by the SA application deadline. DoDMERB process can extend well into the spring for some applicants. The SAs can look at applicant records independent of DoDMERB findings.

DoDMERB is figuring out some workarounds. The people aren’t down, just the notification system. They have a mission to perform for military pre-comm sources, and they will get it done, though it may well be messy for a while.

There is something you can try. DoDMERB is the govt entity which has oversight of the process and renders Q/DQ decisions. DoDMETS is the contractor which coordinates with the applicant to assign providers and gather data for DoDMERB. DoDMETS has its own log-in.

If you believe your name is “in the system,” you could try the first-time user log-in instructions, see if you could get in and start the ball rolling for booking your appointments. Review the site thoroughly and give it a try.

I’m not sure what part of the site is down. My son got a new login last week and was able to do the medical history form and enter appointment times last night. It seems to be functioning enough to allow you to schedule exams.

It's been around a month since USAFA notified me that they contacted the DodMERB, but I'm still unable to log-in to the DoDMETS website to book an appointment (I've had a couple friends log-in a week after submitting the USAFA candidate kit, which is confusing). Is there anyone I could/should contact?

Have you tried different browsers? Cleared your cache? Used the dashes between your SSN for first-time user log-in?

Have you been able to get into DoDMETS at call? If you can, you have to go to your profile to update with a new password after using the default first-time user access. Once you do that and log back in, you should be able to see more content and start scheduling.

Every year, there are applicants who enter an incorrect SSN at the SA application site. The SA uses that as your file identifier. That passes to DoDMERB, compounding the error. The applicant cannot log in with a different SSN. Verify you have the correct SSN in the system.

Look at DoDMETS Help/Contact area to ask for help.

Thank you for the help. I checked my SA application for the right SSN and cleared caches, but was still unable to log-in. It always says the same thing: "Login Failed! Incorrect username & password combination." Is it possible that my name/SSN still isn't in the system?

Time to contact DoDMETS Help. You might want to call USAFA first to see if your file was actually sent to DoDMERB, and when. I am not sure what functions the current outage is affecting.

My daughter wasn't able to log in either. She called the CIV Team at (215) 587-9600 (she had to hit redial multiple times) - her SS # was wrong in the system. She just had to email them a copy of her SS card and the problem was immediately resolved!
Thank you for posting this! My DS picked up a 3-yr scholarship but somewhere his SSN was entered incorrectly. The person he emailed @ DODMERB said the CIV team had to fix this but couldn’t until the site was fixed. But maybe they can, it’s worth a phone call on his part! Right now, he has a completed medical that can’t talk to the system because it can’t be matched to the file with the incorrect SSN. As a result, he can’t activate his scholarship 🙁…. Thank you, again!

Edited: we know they are working through files as 2 of his buddies also went for their exam w/ him & they are now medically cleared. So happy for them! Just trying to help our DS navigate this. His CO now knows about it (as of a few days ago) so he may get some assistance through that avenue….

Hello! I confirmed with USAFA admissions that my file was sent, and I reached out to the CIV team a few weeks ago. They notified me that as an overseas applicant, I would need to process my medical exam differently (not through DoDMETS). They forwarded me to the DoDMERB help email, but I haven't received a reply since. Does anyone know anything about the medical examination process overseas? (I tried to call the DoDMERB help desk, but I don't think I'm able to/I don't know how to with a foreign number).

paging @dav1y I know this user was an overseas applicant last year. They are currently a plebe and well, let's just say it's a busy week at USNA but hopefully they can provide some insight.

I've also tried calling internationally using my dad's phone (mine hasn't ever worked for whatever reason), but they've never answered. I've tried CIV Team and DoDMERB, but the call is either glitched/broken, or no one replies before hanging up. I'm not sure what else I can do...
