DODMERB Appointment Out of NOWHERE!

Hi all, my DS was (and I stress 'WAS') considering earning an appointment early this year. He attended SLE, Boys State, passed the CFA and has been lightly recruited by the sprint football team.

At the beginning of the August, he made the decision that the USMA was not for him. At that point, he stopped working on his file and trying to earn a nomination (he never completed the candidate statement, never sent in his updated SAT scores, etc.). He even rearranged his class schedule for this academic year.

In the mail today we received a notice from the DODMERB stating that appointments had been made for him at various doctors in the area! How (and why) did this happen? The last time he checked his application status it said 'NO ACTION'. Now it says 'Scheduled in Contract Area'. We never logged in to the website to schedule these appointments!

Can anyone provide any insight to any of this?!?!? We are all shocked and don't know what to do.

That's weird because I'm pretty sure you have to go into the system and enter your appointment dates/times.

He could call DODMERB and explain the situation if he truly has no interest in the academy anymore. They should be able to remove/cancel the appointments listed.

Has he been communicating with the sprint football coach?
 
One or two emails but that's it. As a matter of fact, we never even replied to the last email because he received a likely letter from another school that he intends to play football for and applied early decision.

I will have him make some calls.
