DoDMERB Consultants

@DSM, exactly same experience here...

It is not the money, it is the precious time wasted with his dude, the safety and privacy of medical record sent to him, and more importantly tarnish to US Navy's image for the young men & women who are thinking to join the service for something bigger than themselves. I would think Navy can do something to prevent and punish Mr. Merchant for continuing his fraudulent (or even criminal) behavior by using his Navy experience as an advertisement and selling point to phish more victims.
Unbelievable to read these posts thar Dr Merchant is still operating after I reported him to the Colorado Better Business Bureau in 2016 for the exact same issues of non responsiveness after being paid, failure to honor contract, etc.

However, he has a current LinkedIn profile for Dodmerb Consultants that he may respond to anyone with an active account..or just leave a counter endorsement on his profile. What a shame that he is still operating..

I dont think the BBB has any power and unless you look for his BBB rating, there is no way anyone would know about. It isnt like he is going to advertise his BBB rating.

The BBB is the Yelp of pre-internet days. They have zero power to do anything other than throw their name around. Similar to Yelp it’s also a pay-to-play scheme of sorts

Yes, I agree..however, it appears that the Colorado Attorney General's office has received notice, as well.

I have to imagine that Colorado Attorney General hasnt done anything and probably considers it a civil matter where your only recourse is to take them to court. I guess if enough people complained to the Attorney general, they may consider it fraud and go after them. At this point, its no worse that complaining about bad service. I dont agree and think someone should go after him, but that is probably where it stand now

Has anyone had a negative experience with them? I have recently contracted the services of Dr. Merchant (DoDMERB Consultants) two weeks ago and I have to say I am very uneasy about it. I had one initial conversation with him and then since then it has been spotty, if anything. I understand he is retired and travels a lot, but he seems to have totally blown us off. My son was disqualified due to a history of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (he has been healthy and symptom free for 8+years). We have received clean bill of health from his pediatrician and Adult Rheumatologist (including clean blood work). Dr. Merchant has ignored calls from our specialist and has not made the calls he has promised to make in order to get my son's supporting documentation to the DoDMERB for NROTC waiver consideration. He has totally ignored my emails and repeated voicemails. Has anyone else experienced anything similar when dealing with him?
I had a very bad experience with Dr Merchant. He was very responsive until the payment was received. After that I could not get hold of him at all. There were several people who had the same experience. Luckily I used a credit card to make the payment and was able to get my money back. He has very good excuses, one is heart attack, travel etc. He is a fraud. If I had the time, I would contact the Colorado Medical Certifications. Please note there were several people in this forum who experienced the same. Please save your money.

In my case, he just disappeared, not even an excuse. I Called credit card to file dispute so that he does not get the monetary benefit from the scam. Will fill complain to Colorado GA as "adfuerst" did.

https://www.stopfraudcolorado.gov/about-consumer-protection/report-fraud.html to file complain.

More people file complain will bring attention to GA: "Information from consumers enables our office to identify and devote our limited resources to cases supported by law involving widespread harm to Colorado consumers and the associated business environment. Information from the public contributes to potential investigations and may lead to possible legal action taken on behalf of the State of Colorado. "

If you beleive you were scammed call the El Paso County District Attorney (4th Judicial District) at 719 520-6000. This is the chief law enforcement officer in Colorado Springs (assuming Glenn lives in Colorado Springs). If the credit card transaction was out of state you may want to contact the FBI as they investigate crimes involving interstate crimes. Lastly, if the transaction involved the mail contact the US Postal Service.

Sheriff3 I called the prosecutor's office and they referred me to the police to file a report. Does that sound correct to you?

We paid him $950, got a couple of responses from him and a referral to a Dr. in our area. We were told that he would assist us as long as needed. He did help us at first, however once we got the referral, we could never reach him or get a response again. We have emailed, called and texted without ever receiving any reply. Very disappointing.

I have not been on this forum for quite awhile since my son was applying to WP(class of 2020). I now have another son interested in SA ‘s and was going to reach out to Dr. Merchant. He helped us about a year ago with an FAA clearance issue. I’m dismayed to hear how unresponsive he has been. In searching for an alternative, I came across Dr. Jeff Ditzell Jeff Ditzell.com. He is based in NYC which is where we are, so may reach out to him. He’s a psychiatrist who served and lists helping with waivers in addition to a regular practice. What is interesting is that his website says he works closely with Dt. Merchant. So maybe it’s worth contacting him to find out what’s going on with Dr. M.
