This past fall while playing high school football, I suffered a grade 3 MCL sprain in my left knee. I've gone through physical therapy for it, and the ligament is healed, though the doctor suspects there may be lingering damage to the medial meniscus.
In March 2012, I got patellar tendonitis in the other knee, and there may be some damage to the lateral meniscus.
I will be getting MRIs on the knees soon, and I don't know if I'll need surgery on them or not.
I applied for a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship, but did not receive one. I will enroll next year anyway.
Will these injuries (and possible surgeries) result in a disqualification? I read that only current symptomatic meniscal injuries are disqualifying. If I'm healed by the time I enroll in ROTC, will it be an issue?
Any advice would help.
