I have applied for both West Point appointment and for Army ROTC scholarships. I just finished up my DoDMERB exams for West Point and realized that I may have to go through the process again for Army ROTC if I receive a scholarship. If I am cleared medically for West Point, will I have to complete the Army ROTC's DoDMERB exam as well or are they the same exam?

The same. AROTC, if you are awarded a scholarship, will refer to to DoDMERB and will get your results from the USMA exam.

No. My DS was cleared by DoDMERB by USNA, and Army ROTC used the same DoDMERB for his scholarship.

One DoDMERB exam is valid for two years from the exam date.

What happens is your personal info will be sent from ROTC to DODMERB as someone was just awarded a scholarship is now eligible for a DODMERB exam.

DODMERB will run your info through their database. If that info matches that of someone who already has a physical exam on file, then the disposition will be sent to ROTC saying you’re good to go, awaiting AMI, or DQ.

So in your case, if DODMERB qualifies you on the exam you got for USMA and you win a scholarship, then AROTC Cadet Command will send your name to DODMERB as someone who is eligible for an exam.

DODMERB will run the info provided by Cadet Command and see you’ve already got a qualified physical exam in the system. DODMERB will inform AROTC Cadet Command that you’re good.

No further action on your part other than staying healthy and informing DODMERB of any changes to your medical condition.
