Before writing a dissertation on why you should NOT be DQd because you're "fine" now, please read the DNMMS (Does Not Meet Medical Standards)--closely.

"Orthopedic injury occurring in the preceding 6 Months"...or "History of"...or something similar... is hard and fast.

The fact that you may be "fine" now, will be important for the medical waiver authorities, if pursued for a medical waiver by the Academy or ROTC program, but it will NOT change the DoDMERB DQ.

Thank you for posting this - one of my disqualifications was a history of anxiety disorder (which I have never been diagnosed with; I have been in contact with my assigned technician about this). I was worried USNA would see "history of" and end things there, but I guess there's still a chance! :)

If I haven't answered it already, resend. I started early this morning with 203 in my inbox. I'm down to 100. It's now 1:39 PM MDT. I'm going to take a nap. In searching the 100, it did not appear. Will finish the other 100 this evening :wiggle:

Good evening Mr. Mullen. Thanks again for all you do here.

I checked in with my (17yr old) DD who is a 2025 USNA and NROTC applicant about how her medical portion is progressing and she says that she received two DODMERB DQ codes a couple of weeks ago and is currently under waiver review (LOA/PNOM) by USNA. One of the DQ codes is for an entry in her medical record that is based on inaccurate information. She explained this on her exam questionnaire and submitted the records but was still issued the DQ.

The question she has is if she should be rebutting this DQ code with DODMERB in advance of the WA waiver review findings (and what would she need to submit) or should she be waiting for the WA to request any AMI to base a waiver decision on. I have read that waivers for this if it did apply are very rare. She has read the DODMERB applicant reference document and is not sure how to proceed. She plans to email you for guidance so I wanted to post in the DODMERB section to connect to her email.

She has been waiting to be contacted by USNA medical and hasn't heard from them yet. I informed her about how busy things are there now and that lots of applicants are waiting as well. She is the commander and owns this not her parents and I am too large for bunk beds anyway. She does not post on SAF but I enjoy reading the forum and have been able to pass along info she has found useful as she has navigated the application process.
