DS did his DODMERBs on Monday (YAY! Another step down!) However, they didn't take any fluids (urine, blood.)

Is this normal or did the doctor miss something?

Sometimes they do sometimes they do not. It seems very inconsistent. If they do it is urine they test, not blood, but the urine test is not required. However, if they do test, DoDMERB will process the results and compare them against the standard.

DS took his DoDMERB in October. The Doctor said she hadn't sent in urine samples for a couple of years. DS had read the FAQ's On the DoDMERB website and followed all the recommendations for being prepared to take the test. He had taken it easy in his football practice the day before, drank plenty of fluids, avoided certain foods, and even refrained from taking medicine for a bout with hay fever. He was certain that he would have to go back and provide a urine sample, but three weeks later he received his letter stating that he was medically qualified. Based on his experience, your DS should be good. :)

Yeah, he walked out and was about to float away cuz he wanted to make sure to be hydrated enough for any fluid removal, lol!

As long as it all seems standard, I'm a happy momma!

I'm not sure if this affects DoDMERB, but all appointees have a urine test and blood drawn within the first few days of arriving at the Academy.

Sounds fair to me. My kid has nothing to worry about in passing those tests, lol

And there's been a few appointees sent home after the results of the urine and blood test results for illicit drug use.
