Hello, I had my medical exam last Friday and my doctor told me he would send results before the end of the day. Does anyone know when my DoDMERB portal should update to reflect my status?

We have the exact same question. Are the medical reports posted on the DodMERB portal?

It can take a while. I want to say 2-3 weeks for my DS if I recall the timing correctly before he saw any change in his portal.

I'm in the same spot as you right now. This probably isn't too helpful, but at least I can provide some sympathy.

I got my stuff from DoDMETS into DoDMERB (which took FOREVER because my DoDMETS provider took a, like, 3 week vacation in December which seriously slowed down my process) on Friday and because I'm a curious and overly analytical person, I called DoDMERB today and respectfully ask what their reviewing timeline is. They said to call back in 15 days if there was no change. So I said "okay," and I braced myself for another two weeks of waiting for my medical to go through.

Not even a few hours later, a notice was put on my portal saying that because I had listed that I fractured my non-dominant wrist in the 5th grade, a remedial was required. It was really simple; literally like 10 questions about how it may have/have not impacted me in athletics--it didn't even involve a doctor's signature or anything. So I filled that out ASAP then emailed it to my designated DoDMERB official. Then I realized put in the wrong date (I read the wrong line in my medical record and put in the date for a different thing--so stupid lol) so I quickly changed it and sent back the right one a few minutes later. My DoDMERB official replied within an hour that she had received it. My DoDMERB portal hasn't changed to show that it's been received, but I'm sure it will in the next few days.

Long story short: if you respectfully call and ask for information, generally people in this process are happy to help you. Know that they are busy, but generally if you are kind, they will help you with what you need.

The answer: The DoDMERB website will display a status AFTER a case has been initially reviewed. Prior to that it will "probably" reflect a status of AWAITING MEDICAL REVIEW. The key is when the DODMETS website states that the case is CLOSED (meaning it has been transferred to DoDMERB. A general rule at this time of the year (the busy season) a good rule of thumb would be about 2 weeks (10 business days). Just remember, the more calls to DoDMERB....the less time for processing applicant medical exams....it's difficult to be on the phone and processing cases at the same time.

DODMETS had DS file for a month after his last exam on Dec 5, so he called them on Jan 6 and within 10 minutes they sent his file to DODMERB and it was updated in both systems. He was patiently waiting due to the Holiday season, but figured a phone call was warranted. On Jan 8 he received notification that he was qualified medically. Once DODMERB received it, they acted very quickly! DODMETS seemed to need some gentle prodding (once in the beginning and here at the end).

I am a new member supporting my DS, and I would like to thank everyone, especially MullenLE for all of the great information. My DS received a "case closed" status at DoDMETS today, and learned what to expect from reading this thread. Thank you.
