DodMERB Q

MY DS is a SMP Cadet (just finished Freshman year) and will be contracting in September according to his ROO. A year ago he received a 3 yr AD AROTC scholarship and has been through DoDMERB but needed to get a waiver for being on a 504 plan which he never used. Because he went SMP route he did not finish waiver process. So, can his MEPS physical be used to qualify for contracting or does he need to finish his waiver process with DoDMERB?

My understanding (and it could be off) is that MEPS is only for enlisted or OCS/Direct Commissioning, any type of Scholarship and ROTC Commissioning must go thru DoDMERB. in other words, any type of ascension program (SA or College) involving college is DodMERB and not MEPS. MEPS only applies if you are a college grad or enlisting.

As an OCS grad, my accession medical was done via MEPS. I think you are correct.
