On the DoDMERB questionnaire they ask "Do you have any allergies?" DS takes an OC medication once or twice every spring for mild pollen related congestion. He has never seen a doctor for it.

He thought he should answer yes on the allergy question and I agreed with him. I told him he will get a chance to explain it at some point.

I am mostly curious is this the type of condition DoDMERB is looking to get a "yes" response for?

personally I would mark no.
They are more worried about drug/food allergies and seasonal allergies that require frequent medication.

DS marked yes as he has had occasional hayfever. DODMERB tended to respond with "remedials" for every little yes he had on the questionaire. Then we had DS's pediatrician give us copies of all med records, sorted through and made copies of relevant (and only relevant) pages for each remedial. We tabbed each group as a response to individual remedials so that our paperwork was as easy to navigate as possible. Sent it in and all cleared just fine.

Any idea how this is handled when there are no medical records for said allergy? The condition is minor enough that he has never seen a doctor for it.

Seasonal allergy

DS replied yes, more specifically that he had "Seasonal Allergies" He also stated exactly which OTC medication he took and what dosage. No doctor records were requested and no request for a waiver was needed. During his DoDMERB exam the doctor never even asked about it. DS is now experiencing Plebe summer - Class of 2015. Good Luck to you.
