I received a DQ letter from DODMERB because of "Sleepwalking after the 13th birthday". However, this was only a one time event and it was during a time when my dad was very sick and I was loaded with stress.

My question is do you know if waivers are given for sleepwalking?

Contact Larry Mullen directly ASAP. His e-mail is in the sticky at the top of the DODMERB page. Include your full name and last 4 digits of your SSN.

I have contacted Larry Mullen. I also wanted feedback from other people that have had this issue in the past.

Thanks!

Depends which academy. I know of a young man who wanted to go to USNA and had the same DQ. He applied 2 years, and received no waiver. The second year he also applied to USMA. He is now a very highly ranked cow at WP. He has had so many amazing opportunities while there. I believe he might have had only one incident of sleepwalking as well...but Navy didn't want to risk it (very dangerous on a ship). At any rate, USNA's loss is USMA's gain.

Actually, waivers, all waivers, are on a case by case basis. The waiver authorities look at the specifics of the case; consider their Service's and Academy guidance; and then render a decision.

Feedback from other folks will only serve to provide false hope; an erroneous negative; or an amazing coincidence. I provided you the specific instructions of what will occur.:thumb:
