I recently received my Army ROTC scholarship and had to do my medical screening. I had perfect vision, perfect hearing, and my medical screening went perfect.. almost. The lady who was doing my urinalysis said that I might have to come in again because there was a trace of blood in my urine. She said it is nothing to worry about, but they will probably have me take it again. Is it really nothing to be worried about? I was just wondering the problems with this or if I won't be able to have my scholarship.

Thanks!!

I am not a doctor. However, if you weren't noticing blood in your urine on your own then I'm confident you've nothing to worry about.

I'm surprised that you had to do the urinalysis. Our DS, was told that that physical standards had been updated to no longer require a urinalysis. We were worried that the facility didn't know what they were doing, because a document we read said it was required. We showed it to them and they said that was "old" information. They didn't have his do the urinalysis and we were expecting him to get a remedial to get it done. Bottom line is that it was not required and he was medically qualified without it. I would say that if they do send up the test results and DODMERB sees the trace blood in the results, then they will order a remedial for you to retake it. There are many reasons why you may have trace blood in your urine, some serious, but others quite innocuous.

I had to do the same thing. apparently having a period at the time of the test isn't an excuse for having blood in your urine. ha you'll most likely be fine

I took my DoDMERB exams in September, the urinalysis is still there. Its interesting that they did not have your DS do one.

Thank you all for your replies! I just checked my DoDMERB profile and it changed from under review to qualified. Thank God this process is over!
