So I received a letter stating that my distant acuity wasn’t up to standard even though my initial visit was documented to be corrected to 20/25. So I get an AMI request and go to my civil optometrist only to show that my vision is corrected to 20/15-1 which is better than 20/20 but still I got a letter saying my distant acuity does not match standard.

According to DoDI 6130.03-VI, page 16 under section 6.4 Vision, clearly stated that Current distant visual acuity of any degree that does not correct with spectacle lenses at least 20/40 in each eye.
That is the standard for disqualification according to regulation here. So if there’s something that we are missing please let me know.

Are you sure it isn’t for unaided distant visual acuity?

Do you have astigmatism on your RX? Is Your Rx greater than the cut off? You can email your Dodmerb technician and ask more specifics also.

I have astigmatism but it’s not even close to the cut off. The letters only mentioned my distant acuity.

the reply I got from the technician was that the physician that reviewed both submissions of mine(which both actually meet regulations standards) says they FELT as if i should be under waiver review. Shouldn’t there be a legitimate regulation reasoning for that not just because you feel like it?

Nothing about aided or unaided. So for them to request AMI pointless

Even if the standard is indeed different my distance acuity is better that 20/20? What else could be different?
