Good morning,
I'm hoping Mr. Mullen (@MullenLE ) might be able to help my daughter out with this seemingly endless process. She is a DoD dependent and has been offered an AFROTC Commanders Leadership Scholarship. She's been going through the medical waiver process for months now. Her records review and the information she input reflected her treatment/counseling for separation anxiety at age 7 and anxiety related to a move at age 11/12, so DoDMERB has requested both administrative and medical AMI. For the administrative/records AMI, they are requesting all documentation of clinical counseling sessions from both ages. The provider from her first counseling destroyed her records after 10 years in 2021 and provided a letter to support that (and also the nature of her counseling/discharge). The provider from her second counseling went bankrupt in 2020 and was bought by a new agency which does not do mental health counseling, nor do they maintain full treatment records from the past provider. They also provided her a letter stating the number of sessions she received that they pulled from payment archives they received in the purchase of the practice. She provided that documentation for the AMI, as well as the requested pharmacy records, and completed the medical AMI with a Concorde provided psychiatrist last month (who stated there was nothing hindering her military service, her anxiety was age-appropriate, non-significant, etc.). DoDMERB is now requesting those records AGAIN and another medical AMI, which she will schedule and complete (although it feels wildly redundant). But, we really don't know what else she can provide for the administrative portion. We've hit dead ends. May she contact you for information or assistance? Thanks so much for your time and all the help you provide here!
