I feel that my question may be repetitive and asked a million times but I want to ensure i'm not missing anything critical and can work out my plan b's c's etc if need be. I am currently an MSI in Army ROTC at University of Portland on a 3-year AD scholarship. Prior to arriving at UP I completed the medical survey on DODMETS, the optometrist exam, and physical exam. I was then notified that AMI was required which I sent, and following that I received a notification that I was pending DQ for history of a mood disorder. The event referenced was 3 years ago in 2017 and only occurred for 4 months. I had been feeling slightly down during my sophomore year of HS (which I believe to just have been a teenage moodswing) and my doctor decided to recommenced I see a therapist for depression. My parents found a private one who saw me once a month for the next 4 months to ensure I wasn't affected by depression. It doesn't effect me today and it never did in first place, I took AP's, had a job for 2 years which went on during the school year, and was very active in terms of powerlifting which I still am to this day. I submitted additional AMI which was requested, and remember reading that for AROTC cadets on scholarship the waiver process is automatic. My current status on the site is "Under DoDMERB Review" so I assume this is the waiver process. I'm mainly asking if there is anything else I need or can do to get a waiver. My next question would be if I don't get a waiver does that mean i'm done with ROTC? I've wanted to serve my country for as long as a I can remember and if I do end up DQ'd what are my options for service? I want to get a plan B and C set in place so I have a solid course of action. Thank you for your time I really appreciate it.
