Has anyone received their info on this yet? I am anxious to take it!

The SSKs will start to be opened on candidate's portals soon - could be as early as next week.
Once that happens then you will receive information about scheduling DoDMERB.

Note - if you have not sent in any test scores - your SSK will not be opened.

What is SSK?

Do you have to have your ACT/SAT scores sent directly in before this portion of the portal will open?

SSK is when your portal become fully active(i.e. you have the ability to download application forms, send emails to teachers, etc).
If you have not sent your scores, yet, then West Point will most likely not ask DoDMERB to schedule you for a medical exam.

SSK = Second Step Kit
This is the on-line application.
It will 'open' (appear) on your candidate portal.
This will also trigger the authorization to schedule the DoDMERB exam and also the taking of the CFA.

Yes - you must send in your ACT or SAT scores before the SSK will open.
IOW - you cannot proceed in the application process until your scores are sent!
Your file will remain stagnant until your RC received your scores.
Send in your scores!!!

If we are re-applying, do we have to re-send scores in order to open the SSK again, or do they pull the score reports up from the previous year? I am not sending any new scores, so I would prefer not to have to pay to have them sent again.

All you have to do is email your RC and tell him you are interested in re-applying and he will open it for you

I sent in my SAT scores on June 4. for USMA, it was sent through mail but for USNA, it was sent online. Will I be able to use the DoDMERB from USNA for both USMA even though i havent been given the DoDMERB option in my portal for USMA? Im wondering because i was told that if collegeboard sends the scores by mail, it takes up to 4 weeks..

I applied to USAFA, USMA, and USNA for the Classes of 2015. When I did my DoDMERB I just told the doctors that I applied to all three and to send whatever they send to all of them. All three got the info.

sounds great! thanks!
Would finishing the DoDMERB by July be a good goal?

I didn't get the paper until late July, I think, and I had my appointments in August. Im not for certain but pretty sure that DoDMERB is not a requirement to have your portal complete, if I remember correctly. I don't even see a DoDMERB icon on my portal either, unless im overlooking it.

Last year on my portal, I never had a DoDMERB icon. I would guess this year wouldn't be different.

I'm pretty sure you are also correct regarding the portal completion requirement. I'm pretty sure DoDMERB is separate from the portal.

When we talk about 'completing your file' - that does not include DoDMERB which is why you won't see it on your portal.

A complete file = all the icons are green
