So I had my physical today and I know it will take over a month to receive my results but there is an issue. I have scoliosis (not to a disqualifying degree) but I did not get an x-ray. I told the doctor it's degree but I am not sure if I will still need a waiver since there is no X-ray (I don't even know if the doctor wrote down the degree). Does anyone have any advice?
 
Once you see your correspondence in the DoDMERB Tricare website, they'll explain to you what they need in a PDF. Just be patient with the system, everything will be okay!
I had a terrible experience with my DoDMERB teams, just one thing after another lol. Got it finished after a while, but they'll explain to you everything they need in terms of medical documents. I had about 5 different correspondences by the end of it.
 
Gather your medical records and have them ready to submit if/when DoDMERB asks for AMI (additional medical information) which they probably will. If they want current x-rays, you will be asked for them. What you can do right now is to respond promptly to any requests. Good luck.

How long did they take to get back with you? Over a month?
 
The initial time frame in my experience is from two weeks to two months. The earlier you have your exams, the quicker the process is. Two of my kids needed waivers, both had their initial exams in July, and both waited 3-4 weeks to receive the request for additional medical information. Your time frame may vary, but that gives you a general idea. Patience is a virtue here.
 
It also is (or close to) peak season for Medical. IOW, if this was in August, vs November, your time frame would be different. They are actual people, and can only work so fast.
