Does the review committee review the file with the updated GPA and class rank, or do they go with the original that is in the system? Mine have improved with the 7th semester grades, so I am hoping they use the latest numbers. Naturally, not a tectonic change, but I moved from being in top 12% of my class to being in the top 10%, and that seems to be a milestone that is counted.

When my DS emailed his admissions counselor about the same question she said thank you for the update but what is currently on your portal will not change. He didn’t ask why but I am curious why they don’t update with 7th semester transcripts?Does the review committee review the file with the updated GPA and class rank, or do they go with the original that is in the system? We've seen similar with first semester prep school. Final HS GPA is posted but not fall prep semester.

We emailed the counselor, providing a GPA and class rank update in the email and asked if we should update officially. The response was that she appreciated the update, congrats on improvements and accomplishments and that was it. No indication anything else was needed.

When my DS submitted his 7th semester transcripts, he also emailed the counselor to report moving from rank 2 to rank 1 at High School. She emailed stating congratulations and great job on the hard work; however, they do not update the information - the end of junior year gpa and class rank are used for admission purposes. We were upset, too.

My DS submitted his transcript for the college Winter Intersession (6 week accelerated semester) completed in early Feb. The transcript was added to his portal upon receipt at USAFA. I don't know if it will be considered but at least it was submitted in good faith. DS also took the ACT in Feb 2020. Again, he doesn't know if it will be considered but he wanted to be diligent since he is a prep/college re-applicant.
