Good evening. I am a sponsored prep at Nmmi and I am going through a dilemma. I would absolutely love Kings Point, and I am interested marine transportation but I would love army AD as an aviator. When applying for AD from the academy, how much does GPA factor in to your choices? I could do rotc at a college by me with a very high AD selection rate but I'd love to go to the academy.

    Thank you

Go ROTC - that is a FAR better route for your end goal.

I did AROTC last year and am at USMMA this year. I definitely miss some ROTC experiences and miss the military training you get there if you go to a good battalion. However, and unfortunately for all those AROTC cadets around the nation who probably deserve it more, being from a service academy directly effects your active duty chances of doing what you'd like. Message me if you're really interested in either route.

Fully agree. Go West Point or Army ROTC in this case. Being a aviator in the army is way, way out of USMMA's charter. Marine transportation/associated logistics, of course ... probably the best in the country.
