Does it seem too late?

Hey everyone. I submitted my materials for the nomination in mid October (before the deadlines) and today's November 10th, and I still haven't received any emails calling me for an interview. Specifically for Congressman Dan Donovan (and it says on his website that an email will be sent anywhere from late October to Early November) and the 2 NY Senators (Chuck Schumer and Kristen Gillibrand). I was just wondering when an email is most likely to be expected, if at all and if anyone has had any experience with my potential nomination sources? Thanks.

Not at all. MapleRock is correct, Congressman in our district never did interviews, and Senator interviews were fairly late in the game. Did you receive any confirmation that your app package had been received and or was complete? Some do that much probably others do not.

Here in CT, both US Senators had submission deadlines in mid/late September, completed their reviews, and issued their slates in mid/late October.

Conversely, our local Congressman had a late October deadline and DS was advised interview invitations won't be issued until mid November.

I chalk up the difference to comparatively limited resources and the calendar constraints around the election cycle. At the end of the day, everything will be wrapped up by year-end.

Take advantage of this waiting period by presuming you will be invited to interview and assiduously preparing for your interviews.

Our Congressman had a deadline of Sept 30 and my son had that interview in Oct. My son received a call tonight from Gillibrand's office along with a follow up email containing all of the needed info. His interview is Dec 8. Still waiting on Schumer

Just FYI, here in MI, DD got her nom applications in well before the deadline and the first of the 3 interviews isn't until this Sat and the 3rd isn't until 2nd week in Dec.

Doesn't hurt to call their offices, ensure they got your application, and see what the outlook is for interviews. Pick up the phone and let it be your friend.
