Yep my Firsties was cancelled for him a few days ago. And a bunch of his buddies. Bc he has already had a “cruise”. Although he didn’t get underway. But was “on a ship”. Guess that qualifies for the grad requirement. Stupid covid.

Just another day on a Navy cruise, no quotation marks desired or required.

The not getting underway is not a new thing as that is just how schedules can work out or change. My 3/C cruise was 2 weeks at gunnery and damage control training and then 6 weeks aboard a ship that got underway for all of 3 days. We were inport Norfolk for the rest of the time.
 
Their minds go in different directions from I'd say junior year in high school on. They want to be more independent and reject , at first blush any suggestions you send their way. My relationship with my DS prior to entering his freshman year seemed to become strained. They want to be independent and will eventually realize you were only trying to help and things will get better.

Usually happens mid to late 20’s. They realize you know a thing or two because you’ve seen a thing or two (cue ad music).
