Hello, i am a sophomore and as you probably have guessed I will be taking my regents exams soon. I cant find anything that says if the Academy cares about regents, and i was just curious, i am a bit nervous about my upcoming Spanish regents exam, but i completely aced the class(i did not cheat). If i fail the exam but make it up next year how badly will this offset me? thanks

Confused by this one. If you aced the class why are you worried about failing the exam?
(i did not cheat)
I would hope not.

They care about the grades on your transcript. If the regents exam counts as your final exam then it matters for its impact on your course grade, but I don’t believe they’re looking at specific exam scores. This is one Joe Shmo’s opinion, I bet you could get an official answer if you reached out to your admissions counselor. Regardless, it’s advised that you should be doing your best anyway.

thanks, I'm just im a really nervous test taker and i was really anxious about the exam, it doesn't count as my final grade, i aced the final for the class, and after some review i think ill be ok, i mostly made this post because i couldn't find any info on the Academies stance on the regents. Thanks again

So for clarification, not many states have regents exams. I believe regents exams are only a NY test. For those not familiar, it is a state wide test taken at the end of the course.

One way it could potentially be an area of concern is that I recall there are different diplomas to graduate from high school, one would receive a regents diploma if they passed all the required regents exams. If you did not there were other diplomas that you would receive, I think it was called local or standard something like that. I'm not sure if they care about the particular score on the test, but they may care about the type of diploma you receive. It would be worthwhile to ask the question to admissions to get a definitive answer.
