I’m applying and quite nervous. I’m not quite sure if the Marine Option Superscores or not. Any replies appreciated! Thank you!

Short answer: No. Not in the way of taking the best scores across multiple tests.

Granted, in the overall whole person analysis all the scores may be looked at with a view to see if you are trying to improve a low score and succeeded. Don't place too much weight on the ACT/SAT. Many factors figure into the scholarship award. Stats just get you in the door.

@Director Delta - there are many things in life to be nervous about. Applying for the NROTC MO scholarship is not one of them. The NROTC website and this forum will answer the vast majority of your questions. Focus on what you can improve, not what you can't.

As my two other Marine Officer dads have pointed out in one form or another... At this point, your stats are your stats. If there are major improvements that can be made on any of them, by all means focus on those. Don't worry about 1 or 2 point differences. The very first leadership principle is "Know yourself and seek self-improvement." That doesn't mean to be stressed about small items or make small things bigger than they should be.

I know it's stressful. This is essentially your first big job application. Like job applications, the things on the paper only get you that initial look. I assume you're starting your senior year of high school in the fall. At this point, your resume' is pretty much built -- both in stats and in life experience that builds the character of who you are--at least to this point. The stats part is only a small part of the whole person evaluation for this "job" -- which is more like an apprenticeship until you actually earn the title of Marine.

You can search posts of those in this thread for experiences and suggestions. A summary: Put the best (and real) you in front of those interviewing you. If those Marine Officers can see you in The Club (it is one), then your chances improve. The second common piece of advice is this: have a plan B, a plan C, etc. The scholarship is just a means to a beginning. I guess the third common theme that goes along with that is -- don't give up. A couple of us on this thread have had sons that didn't get the scholarship on the first try -- and now those sons are Marine Officers.
