Does # of nominations increase chance of acceptance

My son had his LOA so after receiving his notification of nomination from his senior senator ( from MISSOURI) we contacted our Congresswoman's office when he also received her" principal" nomination , notifying them that her nomination was not needed and should be used on another very deserving candidate. One is all they need !

I'm also in Missouri, may I ask which senator gave a principal nom? My DD has a nom from district 2 MOC, but that slate did not rank. DD was turned down by McCaskill but has not heard from Blunt yet.

I think the principal nom was from the congresswoman, not the senator.

I do not believe either Senator from Missouri does principal nominations. It is my understanding that they just submit 10 names for each slot available and let USNA make final determination for the slate. If anyone has any insight into that please reply...... I am definitely not an expert on this process.

I think Senators & MOC can change their nomination pattern year to year, our DS got principal nom and we only knew this bec. Congressman clearly stated it during the phone congratulation, two days later LOA & 10 days later Appointment. After DS appointment we attended a nomination ceremony with other nominees, which felt a little awkward bec. he was already appointed while majority were still waiting. We didn't say a word about our appointment at the ceremony and neither did the congressman or his staff?

A clarification on my previous post to this thread : My son's nomination experiences were for the USNA class of 2012..... Kit Bond (MO)was his nominating senator .
