My DS has 3 nominations and is waiting to hear back from his first choice...qualified in all other areas. Does the higher number factor into an appointment decision?

This is one of those questions that is asked a dozen times a year, and the answer is a variation on:

With more nominations, IF the SA desires to offer an appointment, it now has more flexibility as to where it may charge the appointment. The analogies include “another bite at the apple” or “another lottery ticket.” A fully qualified (academic, medical, CFA) applicant needs only 1 nom, but if they don’t win their slate (get the appointment allotted to that slate), they may have a chance in another nom category.

It doesn’t add points to the applicant’s package or overcome a weakness.
