Does there being recruited athletes from my area lower my chances at appointment?

Final update: I have received an offer of appointment! Some of the recruited athletes and I have already reached out to one another. Very excited to know some people from home before going into plebe summer.

Quite funny to look back on this forum to see the small things I was worrying about!

I am so happy that it worked out and I am so excited for the challenges that lie ahead! Beat Army!

Next year, when you have the time, come back and talk other stressed applicants down “over the small things.” Insights from current cadets and midshipmen not far from the application process are invaluable.

Your post reinforces what we say . . . you cannot control those around you and how they impact your application. You can only do your best to make yourself the best candidate possible. Glad it works out for you!!

A wonderful example of how trying to figure the whole thing out, apply statistics, infer from other “blessed to receive” announcements, etc, etc, etc...is fruitless. A waste of worry. CONGRATS!!!

I actually just received word from Representative Houlahan (PA06) and have received her nomination - if that happens to be where you are from!

I’m from PA06, do you know if Rep. Houlahan uses principal nomations?
