Does this mean she's in?

You can check the portals. Both the USNA and USAFA portals will show your current status.

My DS got a email from our Senator and a phone call from his MOC about his USAFA appointment a few days before the portal updated. The day it updated he got an email telling him he had a new message in the portal.

We are still waiting patiently on USNA. Told him if he sees the phone number of the MOC show up on his cell to answer [emoji23]

I am confused, sorry 1st time through this process with my DD. As we wait "patiently" (lol) to see if she has gotten accepted to the USNA or the USAF I am wondering what is the typical method that a DD or DS is informed that they have been accepted by an academy? She told me to quit looking at these forums, but I can't help it, and noticed that some people keep looking at their portals. So I asked her this morning if she looks at her USNA or USAF portal and she said "no, she can no longer get in because they are now accepting applications for 2024"? Thanks, your typical nervous and excited Mom :)

Yes she can get into her portal still. She has to be able to in order to accept her appointment. If I remember correctly, it was a little confusing for just a minute when the new applications open. Bc there was access to the new application option, as well as continuing with the existing one. If I remember correctly, DS bookmarked the link to his current application. But yes, you still can get in even when the new period opens for the new class (has that even opened yet?).

You (she) will receive an email, to check her CIS (portal) for an update. Thatmis how one is notified of a change in status. That was another thing I recall with DS: he used an email he didn’t check regularly [emoji849].

Now is the time to be aware of notification, as not all MOC’s contact their candidates (ours didn’t). So if one doesn’t check their email or portal, they could miss it! Although that is hard to believe as most candidates check TOO often.

Good luck nervous and excited mom! I remember the waiting!! But get used to it !! I’m currently waiting to hear DS’s 1st summer block assignments!!

She is incorrect- She should still be able to access her portal, at least the USNA, my DD only applied to USNA, so cant speak for USFA. My daughter checks her a couple of times a week. Good Luck.

Okay, thank you.....

Last year after a certain amount of time, I recall my DS telling me that he got an EMail with a login password change. The online data was still there after he logged in. I posted about it, because someone else was unable to login. For the life of me, I can't find that post, though.

Ah! Here it is; https://www.serviceacademyforums.co...-appointment-thread.57598/page-38#post-612560

Apparently they did it on May 9th last year, so I wouldn't expect that this is what happened, yet. Maybe she should clear her cache/history/cookies in her browser and try again?

APPLICATION STATUS

Congratulations! You are being offered a LETTER OF ASSURANCE (LOA), which is a Conditional Offer of Appointment. This means that if you complete the remaining requirements for admissions, you will be offered an appointment to the United States Naval Academy. Our records indicate you still need to complete items to become fully qualified for admission.

Application Status: Conditional Offer of Appointment LOA
Required Actions: None
Special Instructions: None

We have been working on a waiver and status just changes from required action- medical to None. Also has her noms and CFA

No update to DODMERB site.

Our DD got a LOA Conditional Offer to NAPS on January 16th, with Medical Qualification as the only Action ... (Audiological Retest for initial DQ ... Sent results to DodMERB and USNA Medical Review Liason last week) ... Yesterday, the status changed to:

Application Status: Conditional Offer To NAPS
Required Actions: None
Special Instructions: None

.. and there is the standard (I believe I-Doc Message) at the bottom in the DoDMERB area that says:

"If any illness, surgery, or injury has occurred since the time of your initial DODMERB medical examination, send details and substantiating doctor's statement to nomapps@usna.edu."

I hope this means she gets a Year to Grow stronger at NAPS?

Were you asked to send the follow-up medical info to USNA medical or did you just go ahead and send? My DS has a situation where he had an inaccurate diagnosis notated in his chart which showed a DQ on DODMERB initially. He contacted DODMERB and I believe admissions counselor to see if he should send a follow up CT scan that he got proving that he did not have the diagnosis to just DODMERB or to USNA. We were told just DODMERB and that they "might" take it into consideration. It's been very hard to sit and wait and wonder if they were even able to take into consideration the "correct" medical information. We just continue to hope that no news is good news for now! The medical is his only hold up and he's definitely anxious!

When I called my DODMERB technition they told me anything I sent to DODMERB would go to USNA when they reviewed my file for a waiver so even if DODMERB doesn’t consider it, it gives USNA something to consider for a waiver, I think.

She was asked to send AMI's. No Dr appointment necessary but very specific affidavits and records. Once processed the medical waiver was granted. Hope that helps!

Thank you for the Reassurance @NavyHoops ... DD is over anxious, and Mom and Dad (me) will be glad when its "Done".

It’s pretty cool to push that ACCEPT button. After all these months!!

DD got the "Accept Offer" status button today … She accepted a short while ago … She is so happy and relieved … Mom and Dad (me) are Crying Joyful Happy Tears...

We sent the Original test and 2 New Audiologist tests to both DoDMERB (her processor gave us her DoDMERB email) and we sent it to her Application Officer at USNA and explained what was going on, and asked him to forward it to the Medical Liason in the USMA Medical Reviews department.

Moreover, we sent copies and originals by US Mail as well to the USNA address (52 King ……, Attn: Medical Review Department …)

Don't forget to write your DS Candiate ID on all documentation when send it to the USNA … For PDF Images, we use Adobe to add the ID Print to the scanned image. It is not that hard to figure out.

Btw: She got her Status Change to "Accept Offer" today … She already pushed the Button and we are all crying.

Keep at it … They like to see "Persistence" . Kids who really want it tend to do better.

Sounds like she is good. Now that she has cleared the remaining item to her offer for NAPS guessing it will change shortly. Congrats!

@NavyHoops … Oh, you are SO wise. DD called mom, mom called me, and told us to get home fast. The Email offer of appointment to NAPS came in at 3:30ish she said.

We gathered in front of her computer after dinner, and watched as she nervously pushed the button that will forever change her life … She was so happy and crying at the same time … and we couldn't stop the laughter and tears either.

This was one heck of a journey to this "Incredible Unforgettable Moment".

Usually the cutover date for one application class to the other is April 1st. Maybe they've changed it. Is your daughter sure that her username and password no longer gives her access to the CIS (Candidate Information System)?

We got the very same thing! He needs a waiver for “headaches” which his personal physician already rebuked and he sent a rebuttal. But the DODMERB site is down! We think he is in....‍♀️

This could literally be my post about my DS! Same scenario, he marked Hx of headaches to be completely transparent. He has been headache free for years and DODMERB DQ’d Him “Due to headaches that alter his daily activities” My DS sent a rebuttal and his physician sent a very nice letter within a week. That was mid December. Just got the LOA this past Friday!! Status does not show a waiver yet though.... although he got an email congratulating him on his admission! We celebrated like he’s IN!! Just waiting for that ACCEPT button to pop up!!

WE received a letter in the mail yesterday confirming that she received the waiver. First "snail mail" in regards to medical. It was from the USNA granting the waiver. Based on others posts I believe we should see a portal change in the next few days. Best of luck to your son!

Woo Hoo! :)
That is great news.
