Does "Waiver Granted" status mean I got the waivers?

Hello. I just checked my portal and it changed from "Under Waiver Review" to "Waiver Granted" (I needed two waivers). Unfortunately, they didn't post any correspondence or anything else and are leaving me guessing here. DoDMERB Technician is away from his desk, I'm guessing for Thanksgiving.

Does anyone know if this means I got both of them? I find it hard to believe they would write that status if I only got one waiver....

Thank you.

I am not following - my son's DODMERB portal lists a status for each academy and ROTC program in the game. It should say which academy it is for. If you are looking at one academy's portal then go back to your DODMERB portal to see the full picture though I imagine they don't sync time-wise 100%.

Yes. It says it’s for the Naval Academy as that’s the only program I’m applying to. My question was whether or not “Waiver Granted” means I got both waivers.

I don’t expect anyone to have the answer, but I figured I’d post in case someone else had the same thing.

It would be a mistake to give false hope.

That being said - why give one waiver and not the other! ;)

Keep us posted. :)

Did you do something after “Under Waiver Review”? How long does it take to get waiver granted?

I did not. I had two AMIs from the waiver authority, and submitted those about 1.5 months ago. In total, it's been about 3 months since I went in for my exams. It seems everyone's timeline is different and depends on how competitive you are as a candidate, and of course, what conditions need waiving. Beyond that, I'm sure the later you begin the DoDMERB process, the longer it takes. Luckily, I was on top of it in August, otherwise who knows how long it could have taken.

Who was the waiver authority you sent stuff to?

I see - good question to follow as my son has two DQ codes they are related to each other - I don't know if this means there are two waivers in process or one to cover both. Sounds like your situation might be two different conditions/issues with two different AMI's.

Well, I don't know the specifics of your situation, but I had two DQ codes which were somewhat related.. as in one caused the other. As far as I know, I need two waivers... but I guess I could be wrong. I just want it to be Friday so I can call DoDMERB!!!

Don't be surprised if you find them not in on Friday.

Make sure you check your mailbox as well. The mailbox that is made out of metal, wood, or plastic. My son's USNA waiver was delivered by our mailman well before his portal was updated.

I figured they would bc the post office is working. Do they work on a different schedule then the rest of the gov?

Military are typically given a “96,” Thurs through Sun off. Fed civilians (unless they are certain essential services categories) usually have “liberal leave,” meaning they are fine if they want to take a leave day, as not much is going on. Most do. It will be skeleton crew.

@2024candidate - we had a single DQ in August, and a "Waiver Granted" was posted shortly after. Like you, it happened without notification, but then a few weeks later we did get a physical letter in the mail from USNA confirming the waiver.

Best of luck - I hope it works out.

My advice is to wait and be patient....you will soon know!

If you are still wondering. Service academies grant a waiver of medical disqualifications, not multiple waivers. My DoDMERB technician cleared that up for me today!
