Does your location affect your admission chance?

That is the tester's choice, more importantly IMPO, it is your responsibility. If you have investigated the CFA, you will know the max. and you will stop at the max. Let's be honest, if you hear them count out 95 for sit ups are you going to do 96? If not than you don't need the tester to say STOP! If yes, than you did not investigate hard enough, because if you did you would know 95 or 99 will give you the exact same amount of points.

To be successful in the military you need to always be the person in charge of your responsibilities for your life. In other words, be prepared. Too many times the ones that fail, assume and we all know what assume means.

This is even true in the AD world. Prior to promotions they will tell you to pull your records and review them. I don't have enough fingers or toes for the amount of people we know that were passed over because they never pulled them AND assumed everything in the file was correct, only to find out something was missing or inputted incorrectly. It is your life.

OBTW since the thread has diverted to CFA, please remember that you can max one area, but if bust another, it is consider a bust. I.E. 18 pull ups, but 35 BBall, you bust. Nobody knows the mins, I just threw it out as an example.

Back on topic, as others have stated yes, your area can impact you. It can work for and against you. Example: No VA is very competitive, one of the most competitive areas due to not only civilian population, but many are also military kids. Still only 1 can be charged to the MOC, yet you will find more than that at the SA's. The reason why is due to the fact that NoVA is filled with excellent schools, the avg SAT for a Fairfax student is 1350 out of 1600. That is the avg., thus many more will have much higher scores. So, when they don't get the apptmt from the MOC, they move over to the NWL, and due to their score they get in that way. The competitiveness of their school district makes them more competitive from the National approach, which is the NWL.

It works both ways.

I also recall @ 3 yrs ago that the cong. from Terre Haute only had 1 on his slate. He got in.
