way to go, bigcox!

Congrats on finishing your interviews! :thumb:

Are those pesky essays done?...did you finish all your applications?

Congrats now the waiting begins.......

My last interview is saturday :D

New to this

I'm sure y'all heard this before...but I AM new to this...I just finished my CFA again...i've looked at the averages..but can anyone shed some insight if this was ok....78' on the bball 17 pullup 8.8 shuttle 58 situps 75 pushups and sadly 7:51 on the mile run I'm going to train for the next two/three weeks on the situps and the mile run...

this time, i felt the interview went very smoothly. i got there early and got done early, was home by 1200. how about you?

eagledriver--
everything looks excellent, but the mile and situps could be better. but like you said, you're working on it, so you should be good. running everyday: start out for a mile at 8 flat pace and keep increasing mileage and getting faster as weeks go by. i'm sure there's programs on the net you could look up for your body type, etc. the main thing is to not run through pain!!! situps: same thing; do serious ab workouts at least every other day. i'm also positive you could look up stuff on the net about that too. good luck!! :thumb:

Lucky! My final interview is tomorrow with my congressional Representative. I'm getting apprehensive because everyone else seems to be hearing from their senators much quicker than me. My ALO said I may not hear back until the end of January. I really dislike waiting!

Congrats for having finished!:thumb:

Since I already have an appointment, I called his office and they said that I did not need to show up.

Me, too! I think it went really well. I found out only 16 people in my congressional district are looking for a nomination to any of the academies, and since the Rep is allowed to nominate up to 20 per academy, I'm not too stressed.

I have some scores posted on the USMMA section, check them out and keep running. Good Luck to you

My son too! He was lucky enough to actually get two interviews today, one with the USNA and then the USMA.

I was Lucky enough to attend and what a great bunch of young people attending! There is hope for the Country!

I'm confused. I don't think it's possible for a congressional representative to nominate 20 people to one service academy. I believe that the representative can have a TOTAL of 20 cadets at all the combined academies (USNA, USMA, USAFA, USMMA) at one time (i.e. 5 at each academy that were nominated by he/she). So if there is already 4 cadets at any one academy, your representative may only nominate one more.

You can check it out in more detail at https://www.policyarchive.org/bitstream/handle/10207/2687/RL33213_20051229.pdf?sequence=1

Someone may want to check me on this. Interpreting government documents isn't a specialty of mine

Hi!

Yes, a MOC can nominate 20...actually in the rare cases, they can nominate 50!

How?

You are correct; they're authorized 5 "charged" cadets/plebes/mid's at each academy. For every opening they have, they are allowed to nominate up to 10 people.

So...today when I interviewed candidates for my congressman, we could nominate 10 for the opening we had.

Steve

Yeah, for each open slot a MOC can nominate 10, and since I have an LOA and my rep does competitive pool, I just need to be on the list of 20.

But what if there is someone else in your district that has an LOA, but the MOC only has 1 slot?

If a person has an LOA I have been told all they need is for his/her name to appear on an MOC's "slate of nominees." Meaning he or she could be #10 on the list, but that constitutes a "nomination" and therefore if all other conditions of LOA (such as passing CFA or medical waiver, etc) are satisfied, an Appointment is the next step.
