Double Language Minor

The ones that we have are (I believe) Russian, Chinese, Arabic. Personally, I'm biased toward Arabic. I believe we are probably the smallest language here and we have some great native speakers as instructors.

My daughter is in 10th grade and is fluent in German and getting there in French. They have been in immersion since kindergarten. Say in 4 years she is fluent in both reading, writing, listening, speaking. Would they put her in a strategic language like Russian or would they possibly let her continue in German and French?
I'm sorry, I guess I don't understand the question? If she's fluent, why would she need to keep taking classes in those languages?

My son went into USAFA with 5 years of Spanish. He was assigned Spanish as his foreign language and moved into level 400 classes. He was able to get a minor in Spanish by only taking a few Spanish classes at USAFA. He was also chosen for a 3-week exchange to the Spanish AF Academy during his junior year because of his language skills. It seems every situation can be different depending on the needs of the AF at the time.

She is scared she will loose the two languages she has learned and that she has worked so hard to become bi-lingual in. She wanted to take two foreign languages at the academy and hopes to speak three when she is done with college/academy. She wanted to take French and Russian if she had to take one strategic language. A lot of Air Force officers we have spoken to don't really know the answer. But one ALO advised us that the academy would probably make here major in foreign area studies if she minored in two languages. That true? Sorry just a lot of grey area here and we know it is needs of the Air Force above all else.

Thanks. I told my daughter this. She really wants to study at a German Air Force Academy.

She probably wouldn't have to major in FAS and they should put her in her languages since she's at such a high level. But it might be easier to be aFAS major since four language classes are part of the major class requirements
