Long story short, I got a qualified DoDMERB on file for AFROTC. The DoDMERB was qualified Jan of 2019. I have then since joined AFROTC and am in the running for an AFROTC scholarship. However, in March of 2019, (after my DoDMERB was qualified), I went through some tough times and had to go see a doctor for "suicidality" which is obviously disqualifying (I did not attempt). If it helps my situation, the doctor concluded I was "low risk" and just needed someone to talk to. This went on my military dependent medical records. However, if I get this AFROTC scholarship, my DoDMERB will then be good for the rest of my college career as I would contract before it expired.
I know that before you commission and go to your duty station, you must go through another physical similar to MEPS. If I get a rated slot, will I get DQ'd for that? Will I get DQ'd from even entering the military? If so, what will happen?
