But medically disqualified. Dodmerb says, if USAF think my son is competitive they will start the waiver process on him. There is nothing we can do now they said... Any advice or experience to share, please!

My son was DQ. We were proactive and worked through the issue and sent the information to Mr. Mullen about 3 months ago. My son received nominations for Air Force, Navy, and Army 3 weeks ago. Son received a phone call from one of the academies to inquire if he started to work through the DQ issue which we had but portal was not updated. The academy then reached out to Mr. Mullen regarding paperwork submitted by my son. Son's status went from DQ to waiver pending but now it's just a waiting game. If you haven't started working on the DQ I would suggest doing so. You may need to reach out to your physician's office for records and it can take an undetermined amount of time to get.

We found out he got DQ a month ago. But his ALO said we can not do anything until Academy initiating medical waiver. So we were just waiting and he got nomination a week ago. We still did not get any update. Who is Mr.Mullen?

Mr. Mullen works for Dodmerb. My son attended an Air Force event and was given his name and email regarding his DQ and is very helpful. You can do a search on this forum and you will see his name and contact info and will work with the candidate. The waiver is initiated by the academy but having medical records prepared in advance is helpful. I had to wait 3+!weeks to obtain what was needed.
