Hello. I am "pending waiver submission review" for USNA and USAFA. I took the physical back in August and have mailed all of my remedials to DoDmerb. My doctors have sent several notes to Dodmerb regarding my DQs stating that I am healthy and no longer have conditions I was Dqed for. Shouldn't DoDmerb update my status to cleared since my doctors have given them proof that I am 100% cleared and healthy? Thank you.

The waiver process is not as easy as you think. DoDMerb's job is only to qualify or disqualify you. You have been DQ'd and now it is up to USAFA and USNA to waive your dq's. Each commissioning source will determine if they will waive your medical condition at their own time. That means USAFA can waive you this month and USNA can deny you next month or vise a verse. Additionally, it is a queue system. Nobody here knows how many are in front of you needing a waiver. Waivers can take as little as a month or so and can take as long as 6 months.

Can also depend on the condition. Some DQ regs are stated as "Any history of xxxx" or "Any history of xxx since age y" and doesn't matter if it's no longer present. As Pima mentions you need a waiver from the commissioning source.

Ok. Even with proof from my doctors clearly stating my health, it is still up to the academy. Thank you for clarifying this.

Thank you for explaining this to me.

Additionally some conditions, are non-waiverable. Regardless of what your doctor says, DODMERB bases there decision on whether your previous condition is compatible with military service.

I will PM you what they dqed me for and I can assure you that I have been asymptomatic for years and that these conditions are not serious or reoccurring.
