Hi all,

Well the past year, I've been reading this forum, and knew that I inevitably would be posting in it.

My current status is: Pending Waiver Submission/Review
Anyways, after a remedial requesting my records from age 10 to Present. I was disqualified for:

D241.30 Asthma/reactive airway disease/exercise induced bronchospasm after age 13
D111.10 History of atopic dermatitis/eczema

My question is now, is there anything I can do to increase my chances of getting a wavier? I know that they will automatically consider one if my application is competitive, which I am certain it is. I would just like to do everything I can in my power to obtain a wavier.

In regards to my asthma, it was childhood asthma (minor wheezing) and I was issued a precautionary inhaler for quite some time, but no longer Both my doctor and I believe that the asthma has been, and is no longer a problem for me. (Which he wrote a letter for my original exam with DoDMERB). I am a cross country and track runner with a 5k time of 19 minutes, and mile of 5:30, with NO PROBLEMS at all.

With Eczema, it was a minor problem in my childhood, and has regressed to where it no longer has an affect on me (nor did it ever) and I no longer use rx lotion or creams.

I have a completed the application for USAFA, and will have completed applications for all 3 ROTCs shortly. Serving has always been my dream.

What can be done to improve my chances of a wavier? Those who have had experience with this in the past, I would greatly appreciate your input. I will appreciate any information at all!

Thanks in advance

Tien
