Dress code for overnight visit(male)

I am taking the overnight tour in a couple of days and I was wondering what I should wear. I saw the message that they sent saying suits are not required but would it still be a good idea to wear one?
 
No suit! As Arail5 states, khakis and a nice polo are great. You will see all measure of clothes on visiting candidates. My DS has hosted many. I have had two sons that did their visits before being offered appointments. You may not be able to participate in athletic type classes but may be able to work-out or go to athletic facilities with your cadet so bring athletic wear. You just want to look fairly nice when tending classes, but khakis and polo or button down are great. Have fun! these guys were where you are only a year ago…
 
As always, you don't want your clothes to be a distraction...neither too formal nor too informal.
Can't go wrong with a polo or button down shirt and khakis.
 
Do not wear a suit!!! Polo shirt (with a jacket in case it's cold in the buildings or barracks), nice jeans (khakis/slacks at most), and comfortable walking shoes are all you need
